THE CRIBS - HEY SCENESTERS!

The Cribs es un grupo de Post-punk revival formado por tres integrantes: los gemelos Gary y Ryan Jarman y su hermano menor Ross Jarman, provenientes de Wakefield, West Yorkshire,Inglaterra, su ex-miembro Johnny Marr (ex miembro de The Smiths) dejó la banda en enero de 2011.

La banda ha lanzado 3 álbumes, el primero autotitulado The Cribs en 2004 y el siguiente The New Fellas en 2005. Los singles incluyen “You Were Always The One” (#66 en el chart de singles de UK), “What About Me” (#75), "Another Number", "Hey Scenesters!" (#27), y "Mirror Kissers" (#27). "Martell", el tercer single del álbum The New Fellas, fue lanzado el 22 de agosto del 2005 alcanzando el #39. La banda nombró a su tercer álbum; Men's Needs Women's Needs Whatever. "Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever'" fue grabado en Vancouver, BC, Canadá con Alex Kapranos del grupo Franz Ferdinand como productor. El álbum fue lanzado el 21 de mayo, precedido por el single Men's Needs, el 7 de mayo, alcanzando el #17.

El grupo también hizo un extenso tour por Norteamérica con Death Cab for Cutie y Franz Ferdinand en el 2006. Además, su canción "Hey Scenesters!" fue listada por la revista NME en “Los 50 Grandes Himnos Indie de Todos los mejores Tiempos”, ellos fueron una de los pocas bandas contemporáneas incluidas en esta lista.

"Hey Scenesters!" was the first single from English post-punk revival band The Cribs second album The New Fellas. The single charted at number 27 in April 2005, becoming their first Top 40 single. In its year of release, the song was voted the 3rd best song of the year by the NME, Track of the Year by the Metro newspaper, and finished in the top 100 tracks of the year in Rolling Stone in the USA. In May 2007, the song placed 42nd in the influential music paper NME's "Top Indie Anthems of All Time", one of the only contemporary bands included in the list. Drummer Ross Jarman told Mojo magazine that this song was fueled by the band's experiences: "playing Brixton Windmill, full of kids who were only there because they thought it made them look cool."
